The ReEducation of The Williams

Top: Zara Trousers: Oxfam  (retro section) Jewellery: Ellie Williams
Since i can remember i have always been interested in styling and creating theme based photo shoots. At age of 14 me and my buddy Theo would set out and create trendy and innovative ideas to uphold current trends and unique ideas that suited our taste and prospects and still are partners in crime to this current day. In the midst of September we decided to go down to London and work with a model from new york with this idea Theo came up with to enter in to the clothes show young fashion photographer of the year (Which he won!!)

The brief was Empowering females. Ms Lauryn Hill was the inspiration. Why?? Her feminist attitudes and peaceful way of thinking make her the non conformist dream. Sh represents women as being head strong and affluent. My job was to style, There were 3 looks that I came up with. The first was a vintage 1950s Marylin Monroe look, floaty and sophisticated to uphold the classic 'lipstick feminin' sex appeal.

The second look was based around when Ms Hill was making hip hop/reggae in the 90s. Using black and mixed materials to create an edgy urban asthetic, whilst keeping it simple to reflect meanings of her lyrics of life as a young African American being prejudged into a traditional background. Both Uphold a courageous female making sense of her well being and consciousness.

The Final look was aimed to represent a new movement in her life of mother hood, a classically beautiful vintage jumper to maintains a cosy and maternal effect although the embellishment administrates class and individualism, Whilst the jewelry focus's on the powerful and adverse aspects of the look in general.
